A Room Full of Passion

I have recently joined a BNI (Business Networking International). The philosophy of BNI is “… built upon the idea of “Givers Gain®”: By giving business to others, you will get business in return. This is predicated on the age-old idea of “What goes around, comes around.”

In a busy world as the one we life in, it is about belonging to a community. A unique one that is there to learn about you, takes the time every week to hear what you are looking for and in return strives to let you care enough about them, to want to give them business in return and really know them back.

For the past 8 years I have been a one-woman-show. Consulting, supporting, analyzing, helping, promoting, creating, catering for others but running my own company. Belonging to a network, like BNI, reminds me of the years I worked for Coca-Cola in Israel and belonged to a company.

BNI meets once a week, and what I enjoy the most about these weekly meetings is the passion in the room. 50 members, all passionate about what they do and transferring their passion to others. Each members talks about their business for a minute and you get excited about everything from payroll, to flowers, to portraits, to realty, banking, financing or health. It is a great group to belong to with a wonderful variety of businesses that many I know nothing of.  House painting, construction, Medco, insurance are only a few of the businesses I get to learn so much more about these days.

Every week 2 members talk about their businesses at length and today, for example, we learned about Acupuncture and Chinese medicine as well as Shamanic Services.

I am grateful for the feeling of belonging to an energetic group, full of good humor and actively helping promote other people’s businesses. I am sincerely excited about this new community I belong to and hope to master referrals as I go along….

If you want to visit the BNI, let me know and if you are looking for someone who does something…… ask me! I’d love to refer you and connect you to wonderful people.
